Food Rating Thought the food was okay Service Rating Hated the service! Ambience Rating Didn't like the ambience

The food was average, a typical tapas place with the typical chorizos and cheese etc. HOWEVER, what stood out, and in a bad way, was the service. A friend and I went because of some promotional offer. We showed the waitress the promotional offer, and she smiled and acknowledged it. How surprised we were when we got the bill and paid that the promotional offer had not been applied. We enquired about this and were told that we hadn't given the promotional offer at the time of calling for the bill. I would've been okay with this, despite the deceptive acknowledgement of accepting the bill, had it not been for the WAY the waitstaff informed me of it.

Not only was it a brusque, 'it's too late'. I could swear I saw a slight smile appeared on her face as and a hint of triumph in her voice, as if the goal was to trick customers into not being able to use their promotional offer. If it wasn't clear enough with the waitress, it was made glaringly clear with the manager, who while practically laughing snidely informed us that it would be troublesome for the restaurant to rectify this (their) mistake, and that it was therefore too late. I was shocked, and while I was trying to reason with them, walked away in the middle of my sentence. It's not hard to imagine that they were rolling their eyes too.

Needless to say I never going back to this restaurant, and I would caution anyone from going again, at least until they change waitstaff or maybe invest more in training or caring about customers. Why get average food from restaurant full of waitstaff that clearly don't respect you?
