I visited this restaurant for lunch on the 21March06. I had not reserved a table as it was a last minute decision and turned up hoping for the best. I was surprised when they were very welcoming and despite being very busy found me a table straight away. They didn't offer to take my coat but that wasn't a problem for me as I do prefer to keep it with me.The waiters seemed to go into some kind of super waiter mode and were coming at us thick and fast, cutlery, glasses, menus, wine lists and "can we get you a drink while you are looking at the menu". It was very impressive. I had a little difficulty with the menu so asked for some help. The waiter was tremendous and went into an enormous amount of detail to enable me to choose. I eventually chose cured prosciutto ham starter and baked tagliolini with ham for main. I struggled with the wine list too as I am not too familiar with Italian reds. The waiter once again went into great detail explaining the different red wines and suggested a valpolicelli reserve which was tremendous and the waiter made sure I was completely happy before he left the bottle. My starter arrived and I was delighted to see a large portion of parma ham which was wafer thin, very fresh and tasted devine. I have to confess that I enjoyed it that much I ordered it again which came very quickly. My tagliolini then arrived and it was exquisite. I didn't order another though, that would have been really greedy. The ambience of the restaurant was great with a good friendly atmosphere. There were a couple of celebs in which does add kudos but everyone appeared to be treated the same. In summary this was a great lunch (180 for 2 including wine@ 45) but in my opinion worth every penny for the quality of the food and the exceptional service. I will be back

I loved the food here, and although if you were at a cheaper place you'd let some of the tude pass, this was some of the best italian i've had in a while. We had an earlier reservation, so maybe because it wasn't that packed the service was good, but i couldn't comment on what happens when it's busy. regardless, the maitre'd was very nice, and helped my vegetarian girlfriend create a custom appetizer that was phenominal. The remainder of the meal was great tasting as well. It was packed later on, and there wasn't a personalized atmosphere as you're kind of in a giant well lit room...but we were sitting next to evana trump, goldie hawn and kurt russell so we weren't complaining!

Did someone say the Venetians could cook? They sure can! A mesmerising experience of Italian brilliance with food served with panache and smothered with romance.  Bring your beloved here and tell the waiters you want to make him/her feel like royalty.  The Bellini will be delicious and the pasta and seafood deliciously comforting just as the food of romance shoud be.  Superb!
