I went to NEON for a Valentines day treat with my boyfriend. Situated along Atlantic Road, just around the corner from the Dog Star, you canít miss NEON with its bright red neon strip on the outside. We were welcomed by a really nice waiter, a welcome with a difference. NEON was busy even though it was only a Sunday (really the day before Valentines Official day). The waiter seated us in the comfy bar lounge and offered us a Martini to start with. We had a strawberry Martini and a Melon Martini. Neon doesnít have many international cocktails, but they have a lot of Italian cocktails but as an Italian place, NEON is so cool. We were then seated in the Dining room where NEON has long black shared tables. They promote themselves as a modern Italian dining room, and the food is truly modernÖno spagbolognese here. They have pizzas but they also have wonderful modern dishes like pork fillet parcels stuffed with prunes and mint and spiced king prawns with lemon sorbet. The wines are all Italian, we had a bottle from Sicily called Nero díavola. The food is great, the drinks are cool too, but itís really not the place for an intimate tete a tete. Wrong place for Valentines day maybe, but perfect place for a party or birthday meal. Will be back with my friends.

Stark and modern dining room with one wall devoted to a huge work of art which changes occasionally. Seating is at long shared tables, but you are not packed in. Good pasta and really great pizzas and other seasonal dishes. Service is friendly, can be a bit slow if they are busy, but so what, have another drink! Recommended as a stop-off before or during a Brixton night out.
