Food RatingThe food was okay Service RatingThe service was okay Ambience RatingDidn't like the ambience

Previous reviews have clearly taken their toll. At lunchtime, the restaurant was distinctly empty. However, service was attentive and pretty good. The food was alright but not Michelin star standard. Food was pretty rather than particularly tasty or memorable. There are plenty of other London restaurants like Fabrizio in St Cross Street EC1 or the Salt Yard in Goodge Street, W1 more deserving of Michelin treatment.

Absolutely brilliant. Regular award winner (last year best restaurant in England, more recently best wine list). Great food and much better value that its equivalents. Smoke free is a bonus.

Always a welcome, the service friendly and the wine list good.  The food is out of this world, its unusal in crispy pigs ears and the like but they are, trust me, GREAT.  Cheese board is yummy so make room for that too.  Have to book in advance as they are always busy.  The only trouble is that they don't take large bookings - mind you is that really a problem?

Have eaten here seveal times in past two years. Each time has been memorable not only for the food but also the unobtrusive service - friendly without being pestering. Cannot fault technical expertise of the food and pleasing to see regular changes of menu with reappearance of 'old favourites'. Most recent visit 18/10/02 led to exquisite pumpkin risotto with sweetbreads, perfectly cooked halibut and the baked vacherin - excellent!

Excellent 'prix fix' menu at 25. Good (smokeless) environment. Cuisine is distinctly 'Nouvelle'...
