We have been customers at Buona Sera since it opened, then a single frontage crowded place. We have watched it grow; into the shop next door, add a huge bar and attract thousands of customers. Why do they come? Because the place is simply excellent. The food has been good for 20 years, the staff and management could not be better, the attention paid is beyond compare and we are always treated like treasured customers. We come from south of Dorking and do not resent one mile of the journey. Nor is it exorbitantly expensive.
Our, now adult, children still have birthday celebrations there as they have nothing but fond memories of the place. It is not for the faint hearted. It gets noisy- because everyone is enjoying themselves.

It has now been some years since I have experienced such a high and friendly level of service in a London Restaurant. I was accompanied by my father, somewhat of a wine and food snob, who was also most impressed! Although located nowhere near where I live, I will certainly be making the journey back to Buona Sera at Northcote Road again. Generally, a most refreshing experience in these days of restaurant chains and underpaid, exhausted and often surly staff. Moreover, it didn't break the bank.

Excellent Italian food. I live round the corner and eat there several times a month. I had my staffs CHristmas party there and the food was excellent. Highly recomended especially the meatballs, gorgonzola pasta, lamb and calzone (bigger than your head).

I used to live around the corner from Buona Sera.  Northcote Road is filled with lots of restaurants, but Buona Sera is easily the best.  The food is scrumptious, the service friendly and fast, the atmosphere is loud and interesting and the wine very drinkable!  The public transport is good around that area, and there are lots of bars to go on to afterwards if you want to.  Their garlic pizza is second to none, and the pasta is unrivalled.  I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant for any occasion from a first-date dinner for two, to a birthday dinner for 15 (they turn down the lights and bring you cake and singing!)  You will DEFINITELY need to book, as Buona Sera is ALWAYS busy.
