Food RatingLiked the food Service RatingLiked the service Ambience RatingThe ambience was okay

I had heard a lot about the River Cafe being a very over priced, snobby eatery.

We devided to give it a try as a one off treat, as we can not afford to eat here that often. but we found the service to be second to none. The knowledge of our waitress of the wines (and especially in our price range) was excellent.

The food was delicious, every bite was a taste explosion that stimulated my senses. We tried to nake the meal last as long as we could.... but unfortunately everything must come to an end ...... If I could afford to eat there regulary then I would, but alas no.

Food RatingLoved the food! Service RatingLoved the service! Ambience RatingLoved the ambience!

Well, being a person who has eaten at this restaurant more than once, I have to say that it is one of the best places in London to find authentic Italian Food with a modern twist - none of that 'We Only Serve Pasta - Isn't That Italian Enough For You' attitude which so many of the so-called Italian Restaurants seem to proffer.  No! This restaurant has a great reputation - and deservedly so!

Food RatingLoved the food! Service RatingHated the service! Ambience RatingDidn't like the ambience

The arrogant, off-hand service and the extremely close proximity of one's fellow diners in what is, after all, a very expensive restaurant, spoils the experience of eating at the River Cafe, depsite its excellent food.
