Restaurants in Richmond

A guide to Richmond and restaurants around Richmond

Richmond - TW9/10

View From Richmond Hill

Richmond folk really do have it very good. With palaces, parks filled with oak trees and deer, miles of winding Thames and both a train and tube link - you can understand why. Although not strictly classed as a suburb of London (it is in the county of Surrey), we've had many requests to include it within LondonEats.com.

We had to agree, and we now have close to 100 places to eat and drink listed. Just down the road is Kew which although officially part of Richmond does have its own village feel to it and its own fair share of restaurants as well.

Richmond By The Thames

We think one of the best Chinese restaurants this side of London is the Dragon Inn, it is not cheap, though it makes up for it with excellent service and superb dishes. Another up market eatery is the Canyon with possibly the best Thames-side location in Richmond, it serves contemporary American food and is great for brunches. Close to the stunning Kew Gardens is the award winning Glasshouse restaurant - a previous LondonEats.com recommendation.

However, if you are looking for slightly better value dining, then we recommend you go for pub grub. The recently refurbished Orange Tree, the Shaftsbury Arms with new restaurant extension and the hidden-away White Swan, are just some of the public houses to choose from. Without wanting to end on a bad note, a special mention has to unfortunately go to the much declined Roebuck pub at the top of Richmond Hill.
